Xinhua: Some people in the United States claim that the China-U.S. relationship has long been unfair and not reciprocal, and that the U.S. has rebuilt China but it has been taken advantage of.

王毅：中美合作從來(lái)都不是一方給另一方的恩賜，也不是一方對(duì)另一方的剝奪，中美雙方從合作中都獲得了巨大收益，不存在誰(shuí)吃虧、誰(shuí)占誰(shuí)便宜的問(wèn)題。

Wang Yi: China-U.S. cooperation has never been a case of one party giving favor to the other, or one party taking advantage of the other. Both countries have benefited much from this cooperation, and no one is being taken advantage of or being ripped off.

長(zhǎng)期以來(lái)，中美兩國(guó)通過(guò)優(yōu)勢(shì)互補(bǔ)、互利合作，形成相互融合的利益共同體。

Mutually beneficial cooperation over the years have turned China and the U.S. into a community with shared interests. 

中國(guó)的快速發(fā)展既得益于同世界各國(guó)包括美國(guó)的開(kāi)放合作，同樣，中國(guó)的不斷成長(zhǎng)也反過(guò)來(lái)為美國(guó)等提供了持續(xù)增長(zhǎng)的動(dòng)力和巨大的市場(chǎng)空間。

China has achieved rapid growth in part thanks to its opening-up to and cooperation with the rest of the world, including the U.S., China's continued growth has also created sustained demand and an enormous market for the U.S. and other countries.

Statistics show that China-U.S. business ties support 2.6 million American jobs. Trade with China helps each American family save 850 U.S. dollars every year.

Over 70,000 American businesses have made investments in China with a total sales volume of 700 billion U.S. dollars. Among them, 97 percent are making a profit.

Even with the trade friction and COVID-19, the vast majority of American companies in China still want to stay and are doubling down on investment in China.

如果真像某些人所說(shuō)，中美之間的合作是不公平、不對(duì)等的，這種狀況怎能持續(xù)幾十年之久？中美關(guān)系怎能發(fā)展到今天的這種深度和廣度？

If China-U.S. cooperation were unfair and not reciprocal, how could it have continued for several decades? How could China-U.S. ties have come such a long way?

全球化發(fā)展到今天，各國(guó)利益相互交織。

In the globalized world today, the interests of countries are closely intertwined. 

中方一向主張，中美兩國(guó)發(fā)展不是非此即彼的關(guān)系，沒(méi)有必要相互排斥，完全可以相互借力、相互成就。

The development of China and of the U.S. is not a zero-sum game, and we should not reject each other. 

當(dāng)前，世界經(jīng)濟(jì)正經(jīng)受疫情嚴(yán)重沖擊，中美作為世界上最大的兩個(gè)經(jīng)濟(jì)體，理應(yīng)堅(jiān)持平等互惠，以合作而不是脫鉤來(lái)推動(dòng)兩國(guó)關(guān)系的發(fā)展，并為這個(gè)世界承擔(dān)起應(yīng)盡的責(zé)任。

What we should do is to draw on each other's strengths to achieve common development. As COVID-19 takes its toll on the global economy, China and the U.S., the world's two largest economies, should work for mutual benefits on an equal footing, stop attempts at decoupling and advance the relationship through cooperation, and live up to their responsibilities for the world.
